Clinical Services

The Psychology Clinic has established itself as a leading provider of focused therapy, primarily cognitive and behavioural therapies for adults, children, young people and families. The Clinic provides psychological assessment and therapy for a range of problems including

General anxiety disorders

Phobias

Depression

Post-traumatic disturbances

Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Panic disorder

Eating and Dieting disturbances

Insomnia

Health anxiety

Conflict and anger problems

Occupational rehabilitation and stress management

Health related problems

Childhood sleep disturbances

Disruptive and oppositional behaviours such as
aggression in children

Other psychological problems of childhood

Group Programs

As well as individual therapy the Psychology Clinic provides some group programs for anxiety disorder both to adults and children. Social Skills groups for children are also provided.

Neuropsychological Assessments

The Psychology Clinic provides neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation services for appropriately referred clients suspected of having acquired brain damage. For appropriate referrals the Clinic can also undertake assessments of cognitive functioning and learning disabilities. These assessments must be accompanied by a referral from a doctor or university counsellor.

Other Services

The Clinic also provides consultancy and advice to the Government, Public and Community Agencies and other organisations in mental health related areas.

Child Services

The Clinic provides individual and group therapy for children. Assessments of intellectual functioning are also conducted for children. The following Child therapy groups take place on a regular basis.
